« Stepping in and stepping out »
That's me watching visitors stepping into the totem zone. The network constructed on-site was made from threads of various dimensions and combinations, to give more or less resistance against breaking under stress. The thin threads represented fragile human relations, which easily break off when torn. The stronger ones give security. The security of lasting human relations. Visitors entered into the network trying to avoid touching the threads and reading messages that had been deposited by myself or previous visitors. Then they stepped out and formulated their emotions, writing and/or designing in the guest book. Some used the drawing block to express their feelings. They were free to deposit their creations in any place of the installation that they themselves considered adequate. Someone, instead of drawing or writing, preferred to add threads to the network.
